This is as real as it gets!
A year and a few months ago, if you asked me if I liked myself... I would say no. If you asked me why... I would say because I don’t look like so and so or have 6 pack abs.
Over the course of the last year and so, I have come to an understanding that LIVING A HEALTHY HAPPY LIFE DOESN’T REQUIRE 6 PACK ABS 😱
In all honesty, I love my physical look but I love my OUTLOOKS MORE currently and here is why.
OLD ME (bottom pics):
~ let others walk all over me
~ slouched my shoulders because I was insecure about the thickness of my arms ~ cared so much about others opinions and gaining approval / making unreal friendships ~ acted in ways to please others ~ never ate out because I was scared of messing up or ATE EVERYTHING in sight ~ it was all or nothing. Either I ate 20 cookies or none at all
~ ate like it was the last time I’d get food when exposed to junk - no control. ~ went to the gym because I hated the way I looked
New me: (top)
~ acts in ways that mentally and physically benefit me
~ follow flexible dieting, there is “no mistakes or guilt” on eating the things I want to eat, yes including snack junky foods ~ go to the gym for fun, enjoyable, and set goals ~ balance school life relationships much better ~ overall happier and confident in my body
~ DO NOT seek approval from anyone, those who love me for me have stayed in my life ~ understand that change is a process, not an overnight quick fix. ~ I’m not where I want to be, but I’m overall happier with myself as I try to reach my goals ——————————————————— Understand that everyone starts somewhere. I started out wanting to change but having no idea how to or why things worked the way they did. I wanted to change out of hate for body. Now I accept myself, in the process of changing. .
@teamctn changed my life, and I am never going back to the girl on the bottom screen. Physically and mentally working to feel on top of the world. Can’t wait to see what the next year will bring for me as far as mental, emotional, and physical fitness.
There is nothing wrong with self appreciation, love, and care. You only get one body and mind, treat them right and INVEST in them 💓
