Ever since I started working with @wydfitness my workouts have been CHANGED
Every movement is done with intention. The mind muscle connection has been UNREAL. For a very long time I could never feel anything on my posterior chain move. That’s not an exaggeration.
But with a few simple cues and adjustments I’m already starting to see crazy changes. (Having a refeed day may be helping that too @valenciadono 😂)
Anyways life is good and hopefully @gymsharkwomen will sponsor me because I couldn’t be any more of a walking billboard if I tried 😭👍🏼

I posted this FDOE from my first refeed on my story the other day but figured I’d post it in case you missed it / need meal ideas!

To preface this, on a refeed day my carbs bump up a lot so most of these meals are higher carb and geared more towards someone in a bulking phase (or for a refeed day on a cut like me). However, all of these meals can be tweaked to be lower carb (for example, swapping out rice for cauliflower rice 🍚)

✖️MEAL 1: Big bowl of oats! (this is actually my go to breakfast/preworkout meal most days whether it’s a refeed day or not)
Deets: Quick oats, 1 egg white, @uni Chocolate PB Protein, cinnamon, almond milk. Topped with PB2, banana, honey PB 😋

✖️MEAL 2: Post-workout rice bowl. Kept it simple and made sure I was getting carbs and protein post lift and low fat.
Deets: Basmati Rice, Asparagus, Chicken

✖️MEAL 3: Snack time (yes I’m a child and love cereal)
Deets: Cacao Rice Cereal, Almond Milk, Banana🍌

✖️MEAL 4: Breakfast for dinner!!
Part 1: Egg Whites, 2 Low Fat Pork Sausages
Part 2: Pumpkin Protein Pancakes using Unico Cinnamon Roll Protein. Topped with banana and Walden Farms syrup 🥞

Deets: 2 servings of PB Cup Halo Top topped with dark chocolate and honey PB 🍦

Is this what every day of eating looks like? Nope! I usually consume more veggies and focus on getting more of my protein from sources like chicken and lean ground turkey but I wanted to have a little fun with my refeed day!

So wanted to sleep in this morning but nope!! Had to keep going for my team and my goals!!!

Tuesday was REFEED DAY (Phase 2 of introduced a modified Refeed Day every 2 weeks the day before Leg Day. This means I’ll eat some additional carbohydrates to help replenish glycogen stores (a form of carbohydrates in your muscles), so I can work out harder and get better results. Not to be confused with a “cheat day”, bc I honestly feel like everyday is a cheat day for me (I still eat all the yummy food I want... controlled of course, and customized to my daily workouts). On refeed day I eat from a high-glycemic, fast-absorbing carbs list, but the rest of my day still consisted of healthy proteins, fruits, vegetables, and fats.) 👍🏻

Proper Refeeds can definitely play a part in successful dieting. There is a method to the madness though! They must be precise, controlled & strategic. 🔅
💎The Science: Refeeds are a powerful way to promote consistent weight loss without many of the negative side effects that go along with dieting. Prolonged calorie restriction can lead to many problems that affect your metabolism and make it harder for you to lose weight. 🔅
💎Benefits of Refeeds
• Increased Thyroid Function – refeeds produce prompt recovery of thyroid hormone (T3) after prolonged calorie restriction.
• Controlled Hunger – refeeds can boost levels of leptin, which in return will control feelings of hunger.
• Maximized Glycogen Stores – improved insulin sensitivity from calorie restriction leads to a greater capacity for muscles to store glycogen during refeeds. The extra carbs are more likely to be stored as glycogen instead of fat.

At about #7weeksout I decided it was time for @rina_mckinleyfit to get in a 24-48 Refeed. Her carbs, protein & fats were all changed DRASTICALLY & she sent photos first thing in the mornings so that I could decide whether we would continue into the second day. After this mornings photos our 48 hour Refeed was a great success! After the scale not budging for weeks she immediately dropped a pound even though her calories bumped from 1550-2250 or as she says "I was shocked. I was like HOW I ATE MY WEIGHT IN PANCAKES??" 😂. She came in looking much harder, muscles full & popping which is exact what we want for show day! Now her cravings should be in check & mentally she got to let go of some limitations & have fun with it! I love science 🤓

Homemade “shrimp” seitan worked out pretty well! It’s not pink and white, but the texture was good and worked well with the linguini and asparagus. A perfect spring dish. And, of course, my @beyondmeat Beast Burger on a glorious puffy white flour bun. Trying something new today... I made a smoothie using soaked steel cut oats, blueberries, avocado, and a sprinkle of cinnamon. It's a bit bland but it something different. Here's to hoping the oats sit well on my stomach.
#day35 was better than 34. Still a struggle but I was able to push through and give it my all. It's refeed day so you know what that means? Absolutely nothing 🤣🤣🤣 I can't have anything on the refeed just so it's business as usual for me.

I got this beautiful bonsai and a great lunch! I actually forgot about it today and brought mine. It is refeed day so I have more flexibility too. I stuck with sirloin, asparagus, salad with oil & vinegar and a small portion of garlic potatoes! I did good and even stayed away from the cake 🍰🙌🏻
