Provident’s Clinton, NJ branch is pleased to feature The Red Mill Museum Village during the month of March. The Red Mill is a 4-story grist mill and historic site located along the south branch of the Raritan River in Clinton, NJ.
It was built around 1810 as an industrial mill. It has served several roles, including a wool processing plant, a peach basket factory, and a textile mill. It is now a museum that is part of the Red Mill Museum Village and is on the National Register of Historic Places under the name David McKinney Mill.
Through its 12 buildings, its exhibitions—both permanent and rotating—of its collection of 40,000 artifacts, and its ongoing educational/outreach programs, the Red Mill Museum Village seeks to preserve, maintain, and present to the public the social, agricultural, and industrial heritage of Hunterdon County and its surrounding area. #nj #Clinton #redmill #redmillmuseum
