Junge of love ($23) // Slow-cooked minted lamb shank served with kale and lentils. This was absolutely delicious and defs worth it. All well balanced, with lightness from the tomato and cucumber, and packed with flavour. They do kale how it should always be done.
The Ripper ($21) // Truffled mixed mushrooms served with crispy kale, poached egg, pumpkin dish, cannelloni bean mash and balsamic flakes on toasted garlic sourdough. As you can see, it also has crispy bacon ($5) and scrambled eggs on it, because they stuffed up our order. The latter two things were supposed to be for me on a separate plate, and The Ripper was for my friend. So they thought only one person wanted breakfast? Pretty disappointed.
Likewise the white lavender hot chocolate ($7) that everyone raves about (white Belgian chocolate infused with lavender) was luke warm and we couldn’t really taste the white chocolate or the lavender. It tasted like warm milk so we only drank half of it. I’ll come back because it’s good food, but this last experience will delay me. The slightly tempura-style mushroom chips with black garlic aioli ($7) are the bomb. #sydneyfood #redfern #mushrooms #kale #henryleesredfern #sydneyeats #sydneybrunch #sydneylunch #sydneybreakfast
