I've been doing a few things to try to stay sane these days. One has been to teach myself to shake my head yes again when all I could do for a while after the election was shake my head no. Yes, this is our reality for now, and hell yes we can and must do all that's necessary to love each other & cherish our amazing Earth. Another critical thing I've been doing is listening to really good music and seeing some great bands play live. Last night I was thrilled to see Nattali Rize and her band perform her new album "Rebel Frequency." Her previous band, Blue King Brown is and was amazing, and her move to a more singular reggae sound is nothing short of exhilerating! The band is entirely top shelf, their energy is infectious, and Nattali's messages of love and respect for all, resistance, peace and justice, the rights of indigenous people, and celebration of the planet are bold and necessary. They're on a serious globetrotting tour, so see them if you can. Nattali's song "One People" should become the people's movement anthem of our time. Near the end of this beautiful song, she sings "Music's the healer." Indeed. Gratitude to you, Nattali, and all musical healers!
