RE: NOBODY WANTS TO HEAR ABOUT YOUR GRANDCHILDREN. In direct violation of this, I just have to share this inspirational Grandma moment from Mother’s Day last Sunday. Jo (age 6) and I walked down to our lemon tree to pick a few lemons for the water jug, and were disappointed to find the tree completely lemon- less. However, I could see that my next-door neighbor had more lemons than she could possibly use, so I explained to Jo that I was sure she wouldn’t mind sharing, and then clambered through some ice plant and “borrowed” three or four without actually going up to the door to ask her for them.
As we strolled back up the drive to our house Jo squeezed my hand and said, “We should do this more often Gammy.” I said, “What honey, go on walks together more often?” “No,” she replied, “I mean steal stuff!”
So we are planning to either knock over a liquor store or go big and rob a bank. Seriously, it’s very unnerving to have them get old enough to get what’s actually going on around them. I’m afraid Andrea may stop bringing her over. #badgammy #reasonstosmiletoday
