Innovation Week 3.1, period 4! Huge thanks to my good friend @casstwothree from @proconnexionhky for making the drive out to Steinbach this morning before he opened up shop for the day to talk to my grade 9 business students about being a young entrepreneur and owning his own business. We had a great conversation after he left and they were surprised about all that goes into owning and successfully running your own business. He definitely left them feeling inspired! Side note: if you’re a hockey player and are looking for the best sharpening in Winnipeg, do yourself a favour and head down to the Pro Connexion Henderson location to visit Cole to get them done! #authenticlearning#srss#hsdlearns#startyourownbusiness#innovativelearning#realworldlearning
Amazing morning @tate Britain taking part in an artist-led workshop. @yemiawosile and @livresearch were wonderful leading the group, really enthusiastic and encouraging. Something which one of the artists said in passing really resonated with The Bug - mistakes can lead to great art! For him this is huge - fear of making a mistake is what stops him doing things. Hoping he comes away from today with more than an appreciation of art. One of the reasons we do so many workshops is because it gives the children time with people who are passionate and knowledgeable about their subject. Hopefully the children will be inspired to follow their own paths into something they can be equally passionate about! #homeeducation#homeschooling#tatebritain#artistled#realworldlearning#artappreciationforkids
These two are estimating angles before using an angle finder to get the exact measurement. This is part of a larger unit on triangles. Because of their access to the proper tools and a connection between the developmental readiness of the learner, as well as the complexity of the material guided by a teacher who knows each learner well, their estimation was almost spot on! #progressiveeducation 🦉
Today's trACTION card tip asking us to start with the (wo)man in the mirror. Ask a reflection question (maybe related to a sticky team challenge) Example: How do you feel about your own ability to lead change? Reflect. Then share and discuss to build trust and creative confidence.
