#firstimpressions @stratiaskin Fortify Facial Oil 🔸What it is: A moisturizing, restorative facial oil featuring a balanced blend of omega-3 (alpha-linolenic), omega-6 (linoleic), and omega-9 (oleic) fatty acids.
. 🔸Product Overview: Fortify was formulated with a great blend of fatty acids which benefit the skin and support barrier function. Fatty acids are crucial for skin health and are key components in the moisture barrier. They are found throughout the dermis and epidermis. Essential fatty acids - that is, fatty acids that the skin can’t produce on its own (e.g., omega-3 (alpha-linolenic) & omega-6 (linoleic)), have a wide range of beneficial effects to the skin. They can mitigate UV damage, reduce the signs of aging, decrease sensitivity, and increase overall skin health. They can also lighten sun spots and other UV-induced hyperpigmentation. Borage seed oil, perilla seed oil, and cranberry seed oil contain 60-75% linoleic/alpha-linolenic acids each, giving Fortify its omega 3 & 6 components.
Oleic acid (omega-9) is a powerful moisturizer & skin-softener. Most of Fortify’s oleic acid comes from Camellia japonica oil, which has been shown to increase skin health & potentially reduce the signs of aging; it also has significant anti-inflammatory effects. Fortify’s other major source of oleic acid, marula oil, possesses strong anti-inflammatory & antioxidant powers.
. 🔸 1st Impressions: An outstanding facial oil with an impressive mix of oils. It's rare to find this INCI at such an affordable price point ($18/ 30 ml). This is a medium weight oil which soaks in nicely and doesn't sit on the skin. I find it also layers well under makeup & doesn't cause pilling of my other skincare products. Fortify is ideal for dry, combo, dehydrated, or sensitive skin. It has an earthy/nutty scent, which took me a few uses to get used to. However, I view that as a positive feature because it was formulated without irritating fragrant extracts or botanicals. I like to use it before I apply my moisturizer, but this is also great for mixing into a foundation, serum, or lotion. 🔸Bottom line: loving this!
