Now this is delightful, pours thick black, just like engine oil, with a fast disappearing head. Aromas of Chocolate, Vanilla & Brown Sugar. Tastes quite sweet, with Chocolate hiding the Vanilla flavour, hints of Bitterness on the back of the throat & quite dry. Body is TREACLE!
Absolutely amazing. Wish I bought more of their beers.
Recommended Fourpure Brewing Co. 'Shape Shifter' West Coast IPA 5.9% The best supermarket India Pale Ale I've tasted, and I've tasted a few supermarket India Pale Ale's!
BAD Co. Brewing & Distilling Company 'Boston Tea Party' Hazed New England Ale 5.8% All feels a bit to clean for a so called hazed ale!
The Wild Beer Co. 'Pogo' American Pale Ale 4.1% Fruity, but an indistinguishable kind of fruity. Very thin mouthfeel.
Recommended Brouwerij Boon 'Oude Geuze Boon' Lambic Gueuze 7.0% Stunning stuff. Tart, fruity and dry, almost has a white wine like quality to it.
Sunday lunch with #beerfriends ▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️ MASSIVE thanks to @alexdavieschef of @gatheringschch for taking us through seven inventive & delicious courses at yesterday's long lunch! Cheers to Georgia, Will & Luke, as well, for the great service. And a big thank you to everyone who came out to enjoy what was an absolutely unforgettable #beerdinner 🙌🏻
One more for tonight and keeping on the cucumber theme, from @thornbridge comes their 4.7% Wye, a cucumber pale ale.
A pale yellow colour with a thin white head, yep the cucumber is very prominent here. However as someone who doesn't like cucumber as a food I really enjoyed this, crisp and refreshing, I can see myself knocking a few of these back on a hot summers day, decent.
Tonight's research will consist of these bad boys by the brilliant @rivingtonbrewco 'Never Known Fog Like It' just unbelievable! We have had an amazing weekend at 'Tap Beneath The Trees' can't wait for the return leg in August! See you there! 👊🏻
A quick Sunday sup, from @brickbreweryse15 comes their 4.5% Strawberry & Cucumber Sour. I had this on tap in their taproom last week, but how does it stack up in cans?
A peach coloured beer with a thin white head, the strawberry in this version certainly dominates more this time round with cucumber hints and a sour kick in the finish. To be honest this was better on tap but this is still a decent drop, however this is just perfect for the hotter summer days we (might) get during these upcoming summer months, refreshing
