Best Day Ever by Kaira Rouda. 350 pages. I’ve been delayed in posting this, but I read this is in a day and a half! Oooooo I couldn’t put it down. It was a suspense read with a slow (but amazing) build. The story line primarily follows just one day, told in increments of time. [And yes, the title of the wine could maybe clue you in about the book.]
Paul has the perfect life. Perfect career, perfect kids, perfect wife. And being the wonderful husband that he is, he’s planned a getaway weekend for he and his wife, Mia. But as soon as they begin their drive, tension starts to build between them. The question now is- when will it hit its breaking point? Is their marriage as perfect as thought? How much can the two trust each other?
It’s been a while since I loved a story with an unreliable narrator. It’s a risky way the write. It has the potential to go south for many reasons. But Kaira Rouda has mastered this technique. I was wowed by it & was fully absorbed in this book. One more chapter... one more chapter... one more chapter... oops I finished it!!
