Happy Thursday little bookish ones, I hope you've had a good day. I've had a long day of work, but currently on my way to meet the lovely @rosemannering for dinner to catch up on life and talk all things books and Instagram.
One of the books I'm sure we'll discuss is Matt Haig's latest book, How To Stop Time. I read this very recently and whilst I enjoyed the scene setting and historical celebrity appearances, overall I didn't feel fully connected to the plot or characters and so finished it feeling a little disappointed, but mainly just indifferent. Because it's received so many good reviews, I feel almost apologetic about not enjoying it and I wonder if I'm missing something, but overall I just felt it wasn't for me.
Have you read any books that, personally, you felt didn't live up to the hype? Or have you had an unpopular opinion to a book that's otherwise been raved about? This is a safe space, feel free to express it!
