Hi everyone, @wholedailylife here with a recipe for homemade coconut yogurt! My relationship with probiotic and fermented foods has been full of ups and downs since being diagnosed with and working through SIBO. For a while I couldn't include them at all without significant bloating and digestive issues, but over time (and experimenting with a lot of different types) I was able to gradually add them in little by little. I have found that for my system in particular, a heavy dose of probiotics every day helps keep my digestive symptoms under control! Throughout this process I have used primarily probiotic supplements because I can measure/control them better (to keep track of my symptoms) but recently I have been adding fermented foods back into the picture! I used to make this coconut milk yogurt on a regular basis, but this is the first batch I've made in a while, and here's how I did it:
//
Instant Pot Coconut Milk Yogurt:
-32 oz full fat coconut milk (I used a large carton of Aroy-D coconut cream)
-about 50 billion CFU starter probiotic
1. Sanitize the bowl of your instant pot by rinsing with boiling water, then allow to cool.
2. Add the starter probiotic (I used about 1/4 cup of coconut based yogurt with live and active cultures) along with a bit of the coconut milk and whisk to combine. Add the rest of the coconut milk.
3. Set the Instant Pot to the yogurt setting and close the lid.
4. When the yogurt is done, transfer it to a glass jar for storage. //
I let my batch run for 10 hours instead of the pre-set 8 because I wanted it a little more tart!
//
Have you ever made your own fermented foods? I've made pickled radishes and cucumbers along with yogurt, kombucha, and kefir! [@wholedailylife] #traceyaip #wholedailyliferecipes

Fill your life with new experiences. It's best to spend your time and money on experiences because the memories it brings are the only ones you could take with you as you age.

Soooo I love Oregon, but my body isn't able to handle the cold. My Raynaud's is acting up. Not sure if you can tell by this photo, but this is what happens if I get too cold or too stressed. (...and I'm definitely not stressed here in Oregon). My blood vessels constrict too much, not allowing blood to flow to my extremities and my fingers will start to turn a paleish purple color. Ever since I visited Oregon for the 1st time, I've always said I wanted to move up this way, but I'm not sure if my body will be able to adapt to the cold. ๐Ÿ˜

Views of a unique phenomenon that happens to millions! ๐Ÿ–โ„๏ธ
.
Raynaud's syndrome causes an interruption of blood flow to the fingers, toes, nose, and/or ears when a spasm occurs in the blood vessels of these areas. Spasms are caused by exposure to cold or emotional stress. Typically, the affected area turns white (blood flow cut off), then blue (lack of oxygen), then bright red (blood returns) over the course of the attack. There may be associated tingling, swelling, or painful throbbing. The attacks may last from minutes to hours. In severe cases, the area may develop ulcerations and infections, which can lead to gangrene.
.
Women are more affected by this phenomenon and as many as 20% of all women of child bearing age will have this condition. That's one in five women from their early teens to their early 50s! In total, about 15-30 million of people are affected in the United States.
.
Raynaudโ€™s can occur as a โ€œprimaryโ€ disease; that is, with no associated disorder. It can also occur as a โ€œsecondaryโ€ condition related to other diseases, such as scleroderma, lupus, and rheumatoid arthritis. Triggers for this attacks are: Cold temperatures (most common) and emotional stress. Exposure to cold can include putting your hands in cold water, taking something from a freezer or encountering cold air.
.
Some of the most common treatments that are applied to these patients are: Topical application (medication) that helps dilate blood vessels to increase blood circulation, calcium blocker channels prescription, and relaxation exercises and techniques.
.
If you or a loved one are experiencing these conditions, please ask us and contact your primary healthcare physician to prevent any further complications. Stay warm and stay flowing everyone!

It's Tracey from @wholedailylife here to share one of my favorite weekend meals with you: the yogurt and veggie bowl! It seems like a strange combination, but I actually really like it. I start with a heap of roasted veggies (which I always have around, sometimes leftover from the week, sometimes cooked fresh). I try to get as many different colors and flavors as I can! Then I add some yogurt (in this case, the coconut milk yogurt from my earlier post) and a protein! Here I have some pan cooked salmon, but sometimes I just stir @vitalproteins collagen peptides into my yogurt before I add it to the bowl. I love meals like this because they use up leftovers, they're easy to put together and easy to clean up, and every bite is unique!

When people ask us why we love living in Thailand, this is what comes to mind.
We are always judged. By friends, family, strangers. I know I have been, and I am constantly under scrutiny by family and "friends". I can tell you, that hasn't existed here for us. We have been accepted for who we are and where we are in our lives. We have been embraced with true love. Things I never thought a total stranger would do, The Thai people do. We have been celebrated. CELEBRATED! What does that mean? Well, there's not one day that goes by that we haven't been greeted with a smile or a hug, or complete joy just to see us. To have true motivational and inspirational conversations, not gossip. To be lifted up, and not put down. I could go on forever. This has been our lives the past two years of living in Thailand. I wish everyone was this way. The world would be a better place. Wish we didn't have to leave, but we plan to share all the things we have learned here with everyone we come on contact with.
WE LOVE YOU THAILAND! โค

Not only do I own and run #OHFORKS, but I am also an author and writer of many trades. Today is release day for a project that means the WORLD to me, and so many other #gastroparesis warriors like myself. A group of 15 of us came together to share our personal journey, to expand the knowledge and help find a cure for this life stealing disease. It's real. Real raw. Real tough. Real ugly... but so truthful, and pretty full of hope.
If you know someone who has this illness, please share this with them, or read up on it yourself. Here's the #Amazon link:

Hi there, @wholedailylife back with another tip! I always store leftovers in single serving portions in my freezer so that I can grab one and have a meal ready to go at a moment's notice. I pulled out this bowl of stir fry that a made a few weeks ago from my #freezerstash for lunch today since I had a last minute change of plans! It's made with ground pork from @uswellnessmeats, cauli rice, shredded carrot, cabbage, coconut aminos, ginger, garlic, fish sauce, and green onions. Depending on how much time I have I either reheat in my @myhotlogic mini, on the stovetop, in the oven, or if I'm in a rush, the microwave.

I was originally planning on going to an AIP potluck meetup here in San Diego, but woke up feeling pretty run down from such a busy week and decided to take it easy today. In the past I would have felt guilty about backing out, but I've learned that prioritizing my health is so much more important!
