It's absolutely absurd that people are seriously trying to create a female-only racing series. As race car drivers #WeRaceAsEquals. Racing is one of the only sports where women & men compete head-to-head & frankly I wouldn't have it any other way 😎. When I'm behind the wheel, I'm simply a DRIVER, not a male or female. In this photo my co-driver @ljunnila & I had won the 2012 Rally America B-Spec Championship, placed 4th in the 2WD championship, and I was the first female to become a serious rookie of the year contender in the series, where I went head-to-head with a male driver all season until the last stage of the last race of the season, when he finished in front of me. That year we also finished top-10 overall at Oregon Trail Rally in a B-spec rally car.
Being a woman race car #driver doesn't mean we're less of a woman, in my opinion it makes us more of a woman.
Personally racing pushes me to become the best version of myself...to think quicker, become stronger, faster & better all around. Yes, sometimes it's scary #racing on narrow roads with little traction with trees, rocks & cliffs, but pushing beyond that fear is where I feel right at home. I'm constantly pushing beyond what I thought I was capable of & through that I realize that I'm only just scratching the surface of my potential 💫. And all of that is why I'm so passionate about it ❤️. Thank you @pippamann for writing your blog post to bring attention to what's happening & bringing female race car drivers together to stop it 🙅🏻🙅🙅🏼🙅🏽🙅🏾. I encourage all female race car drivers to post because we're stronger as one 💪🏼🚗💨💨! .
