So I'd like to reflect for a time on what the impact of social media is on a generation of people. I see all the time that it makes people more self centred, egotistical and self entitled. It's changing a generation to have very little tolerance for opinions different to their own. We now have the ability to tune into only exactly what we are interested in and cut out all the rest. Technology once again impacts and changes social structures. Altruism is what we should be seeking
Australia is home to an extensive network of traditional songlines, some of which traverse hundreds of kilometres through lands of many different Indigenous peoples.
Songlines are known as navigational tracks, in that the elders or the trained Indigenous people will sing the landscape and therefore be able to move from location to location through it, and teach each other.
At every location, each sacred site within that sung track, they perform rituals. Those rituals are repeated songs, and those songs encode the information.
