Often when I am teaching new clients about “Pilates breathing”, they comment on how it is “totally different” from what they have been taught in other practices. I came across this description of Pilates breathing in #RaelIsacowitz book “Pilates Second Edition”. It’s so beautifully explained by Rael, that I had to share.
I love when he says, “...the process of practicing different types of breathing techniques… should be viewed as expanding the breathing vocabulary...” There is no “right or wrong” way of breath, it’s a matter of which breathing tool do you need for what you are currently trying to accomplish.
