1. Fat is your friend! That's right, I said it! Make sure you're getting some healthy fats such as avocado, coconut, fish, flax or olive oils every day! If you have a hard time digesting fat try an enzyme with a high dose of lipase.
2. Optimize your digestion. Address bacterial imbalances by reducing sugars, adding in anti-bacterial supplements such as oil of oregano, ginger, garlic and peppermint. Restore healthy bacteria with fermented foods and probiotics.
3. Get your rest and manage stress! There's no substitute for a good night's sleep! Make sure you get 7 to 8 hours and manage your stress by venting to loved ones, exercising, journaling, walking in nature, or whatever makes you happy.
4. Show your liver some love! Your liver excretes excess hormones such as estrogen, which helps maintain a healthy hormone balance. Support it by drinking lemon water, minimizing drugs and alcohol, or trying a liver supplement (consult your primary care practitioner if you are currently on medications). 5. If you are still struggling, consider seeing a naturopath and/or nutritionist for additional support.
