#thedarklord has been a journey in itself. This is my first ensemble work that has left me with a sense of fulfilment and joy. The #raadhakalpa production, premiered two days ago and I have a long list of people to thank.
Starting with my family who has been patient, loving and supportive through my absence and preoccupied conversations over the last 8 months, I have my husband @romenon and my parents who have been my pillar of strength.
My dancers are the most beautiful girls inside and out and I have had the fortune of working with them these past months. Their dedication, hard work, patience, persistence and ability to believe in my madness has made this possible. I'm deeply grateful to the universe for allowing me the privilege of having these lovely girls with me in this journey of artistic discovery. I could not have done anything without them.
My music composer , Dr Rajkumar Bharathi who is the most kind and loving soul , brought the story alive with his imagination and music. He was involved in every nuance in the story and I know that everything came to live because of his ability to try to see and travel with me in my crazy world as I did. Keertana Vaidyanathan, for her magical voice and singing. Sai Shravanam for his attention to detail while engineering the music. He could hear things that nobody could hear!! Hariprasad Shetty, our set designer who was the most accommodating and patient person to work with. He created magic with his work and the visuals were stunning. Making changes and adding things to the set just to help our theatrical accuracy.
Pritham Kumar, our light designer made the lights build the story and experience. We didn’t just “see” the dancers. The lights told a story of their own. His commitment to precision and his constant reevaluation made it a pleasure to work with him.
Our Production Manager , Masooom! Oh, what must I say about this wonderful little man. He drove me crazy and made me laugh all at once. I am so happy to have had him with us.
My Students of Raadha Kalpa, who were there as the backstage crew, they worked tirelessly, endlessly, hours on end! I can't fit everything here..... check FB pic: VB Suresh
