I subbed a power flow class today and my teaching style is more slow flow. It was a soulful, slow paced vinyasa, heart opening class. When I sub power classes I'm always a little apprehensive of how it will go over for students use to a fast paced class but savasana is always a good indicator of how well received the sequence was. This was quite possibly the quietest savasana I've ever witnessed. Not even a twitch or a flinch out of anyone. I let them stay a couple extra minutes since they were totally soaking it in. That's one of the things I love most about teaching yoga; being able to give my students that peaceful gift. Working their bodies through a sequence that will balance and reset their bodies and quiet their minds.
