Flexing and feasting is my kind of summer day 💛🍉🥑🍠
I spent years looking for the "perfect diet", but nothing made me more miserable than feeling restricted, and I honestly didn't know that until I stopped tracking.
Eating food I love to nourish my body, having the enjoyment of eating out, cooking delicious meals without fear of the numbers in each ingredient, and finding how to fuel my body without controlling every aspect of it has been so freaking life changing for me.
Cooking has always been something I have fun with creatively, and cooking with my boyfriend at our new apartment and grilling up huge platters of food is now something I see as so enjoyable and not something I fear. I accept invitations to lunches and dinners and parties, and I'm mindful to eat nutritiously the majority of the time because the happiness I've found has come from trusting my body, not restricting myself to anything.
I eat these foods because they make me feel my best, and I love what I eat. I don't "defend" my eating choices, my love of salads, my processed protein bars, my indulgences, my nightly protein oatmeal, my immense vegetable snacking, because I don't need to.
I was not put on this earth, or into this community to be super healthy, super skinny, or "perfect" and I'm learning that more and more every day!
Comment below if you'd be interested in a full day of eating on my story tomorrow!
SO what's on MY platter?👍🏼😊💚
This is pineapple teriyaki marinated (1 hr in marinade) chicken and skirt steaks grilled for 4 mins on each side, grilled peppers, grilled eggplant and mushrooms. We also had steamed sweet corn with the mean and I created a HUGE salad with lettuce, peppers, onion, tomato, carrots, avocado and feta with a balsamic dressing 👌🏼 #heakthyliving #beyourbestyou #progressnotperfection #findwhatworksforyou #findyourhealthy
