Chances are, you have heard about this solar eclipse happening today in Leo. The Moon (our inner self, dreams, past, subconscious, yin/feminine) is visible as it blocks out the Sun (our ego, forward-thinking, consciousness, drive, yang/masculine). The unseen becomes seen. The inner eclipses the outer. Power and leadership are blocked by instinct and emotion.
Now is the time to revere and protect divine lunar femme lives, past present and future. Now is the time to step into our power with others, power in collaboration, our nurturing power, power generated from joy and pride. Now is the time to leave behind our fears and step into love - not a passive love that allows white supremacy to continue unchecked, but an active, heart-centered love that moves us to care for strangers as we would care for our family in dark times.
This eclipse bring a chance to confront our past and transform our future. White people like me: who are your ancestors? How can we heal ancestral wounds of greed, fear, racism, colonialism? How can we shift the dominant culture's story of whiteness as neutral good? This is our work.
After today's eclipse mania has passed, remember that we will continue to have eclipses along the Leo-Aquarius access for the next two years. We are setting seeds into motion that may not immediately eclipse power-hungry racist people and institutions. Humans are impatient but remember that huge shifts often happen slowly, gradually, in unexpected ways. Slow down, turn inward, and set an intention to carry you forward through the unknown.
