I waited patiently at the counter to make payment for my bread at Ostrich Bakery. The sales lady while sorting out the transactions, admired the gown worn by one of the customers and she said: "I love your lace". The woman responded with a smile: "Thank you"
I decided to look for trouble by saying:
"And I'm jealous"
We all laughed and even the male customer standing between me and her smiled along. I believe he was wondering how we women sometimes catch fun in the midst of trivialities.
I don't know the woman and I guess that I may not even recognise her if I come across her tomorrow. But those few seconds of laughter became a relaxing therapy for all of us.
We all carry a bit of luggage filled with worry or anxiety over something we are looking forward to or a long-standing problem that has refused to go away.
You may never know the effect that your putting a smile on the faces of others will do in their lives.
Impact your world positively with your little deeds of kindness.
Be a light that shines in darkness.
