#PushUps💪 basics with our friend @Melissa_Hartwig (Founder of @Whole30). Almost everyone knows how to do a pushup. 😏 However, most could really benefit from adjusting their form. .

When you are setting up for a pushup, find a slightly tucked pelvis↪️. Spread your fingers out🖐 and press into the ground with all of the fingers and palm while torquing the hands into the ground as if you are trying to open a jar. Elbow pits facing forward➡️. Brace your core and squeeze your glutes🍑. Imagine yourself pulling the hands and feet toward one another while pressing into the floor- this will light you up and help prevent you from the sagging lower back we often see! Press hard‼️ into the floor as if you are trying to press your spine all the way to the ceiling.

Without shrugging, lean forward onto your toes as you lower down⬇️. Keeping the elbows close to the body and not flared out. Keep your head aligned straight with the rest of your spine. If you were to draw a line from the heels to the top of the head it should be perfectly straight 📏throughout the entire movement. This is more of a planche style pushup. Playing with your hand position and width can slightly alter the way the muscles are worked but the other checkpoints should still be maintained. 🔆
