We're not all the same! Some of us are lgbt, some are female, some are non-white, some are drug users, some are aggressive, some are shy, some are extroverted, some are vulgar and cuss a lot, some are (hyper)sexual, some are NT-passing, some are adults, some are elderly, some are "basic" teens, some aren't virgins, some are married, some have children of their own, some have jobs, the list goes on...
I do fit some stereotypes, some of my "lower functioning" symptoms are obvious, I'm white, I'm a boy, I'm very repetitive, and my IQ is above average. But I'm a trans guy, I'm bisexual, I smoke weed, I'm very vulgar and sexual, I cuss a lot, I'm cold and distant, I listen to rap and pop, I'm a fuckboy, and I'm currently working on preparing myself for the future that I want for myself.

This is horrifying, heartbreaking and disgusting. Autism IS my identity. My autism is who I am, and you cannot kill me. If there was a cure, we would cease to be. The people you know and love who are autistic would become a blank slate, we would essentially die. And for what? We didn't choose to be this way, and it's NOT a tragedy or a disease. It's why we are us, it's how we function, it's who we are. Andrew Wakefield lost his license because he lied about us for money, his vaccines theory was DEBUNKED and yet so many ignorant people still believe it?? We are not an injury, we are not a burden, we are not an epidemic. We need to step up, we will NOT be silenced anymore! We are autistic and we are here to stay!!! ✊🏻❤

We follow @libbyautism on Twitter. A young adult in England who is on the spectrum and shares her story with the world. I am so amazed by everything she teaches me in every single post, like this one. #livingwithautism #proudtobeautistic #differentnotless

For a long time ever since I was a kid I had been masking, until recently. My birthday is in two days, and in honor of being alive for 18 years I'm taking my mask off for good. THIS is me, I am autistic and there is absolutely nothing wrong with me. ❤

I want to let the 🌎 know that what you hear about autistic people in the media is mostly false and misleading.
As an autistic woman, I want to change people views on autistic community and make it where we have the same opportunity as an neurotypical. We us autistic people want #neurodiversity not a cure. #endableism #actuallyautistic #proudtobeautistic #autisticwoman #autisticpride

THIS IS LITERALLY ME, and I was also treated like a baby after my autism diagnosis, I didn't have the right accommodations for a looong time and in middle school I received negative low-functioning treatment i.e. being treated like a toddler, and then the first half of high school I received negative high-functioning treatment because "Oh you're high-functioning you don't need help or anything" No wonder I had so many fucking meltdowns and outbursts. 😒
Hi angels! I'm so sorry for not posting in a while, executive dysfunction has been kicking my ass and my cousin recently passed away, and I had a meltdown at my appointment with my psychiatrist due to my mother's ignorance, but I'm feeling better now! I'm more hopeful about getting better now that I've expressed it more with my psychiatrist and therapist. 💕

this is definitely true one thing that you will learn from people with autism like myself is that we thrive by following a routine a routine helps us make sense of daily life and to keep track of when we do our favorite activities following a routine helps autistic individuals follow a set schedule for their daily life and week #autismspectrumdisorder #autismawareness #proudtobeautistic #proudtohaveautism #diffrentnotless #autisticadult #myautismisawesome #autismismysuperpower #specialneedsadults #livingonthespectrum #autisticandawesome #adultwithautism #autismadvocate

Just setting up for tonight's talk in Haywards Heath. Will be delivering a talk about autism and anxiety #Autism #Anxiety #IncreasingUnderstanding #PromotingAcceptance #ProudToBeAutistic

I love being my uniquely autistic self. I just wish society in general stop giving us a bad stigma or telling us this type of behavior is totally unacceptable. Yes, I do stim but I have to hide it in a social situation and I feel exhausted and stress out because I have hide who I really am as a human being and as an autistic person. I love who I am and I shouldn’t be ashamed of it. I feel that as an autistic person, I have to Hide behind a mask where I can’t stim because of being judge negatively by people who don’t understand why I act a certain way or they may think it’s very inappropriate. When I hide my autistic characteristics behind a mask, I feel like a fake person by being a Neurotypical. I alway feel like Elsa from Frozen where I have to concealed it, don’t feel it, don’t let it show type of ordeal. Stimming is part of an autistic person characteristic that helps them to cope with anxiety, nervousness or it help them to stay focus on a task. Everyone does stim from time to time, but autistic people stim all the time and that who we are. I feel that society want us autistic people to be a Neurotypical and suppress our way to express ourselves or to help us cope with anxiety. It’s time to let Autistic people to be their autistic themselves without being Autistic shaming. I really want society to understand it okay for autistic people to be able to stim whenever we want. #actuallyautistic #neurodiversity #autisticpride #autisme #autismlife #AutisticLife #ProudToBeAutistic #Autismo #AspiesPride #aspergerssyndrome

I'm tired of being the butt of edgy neurotypical school kids' jokes. I'm tired of finding ableist and offensive dank "memes" in autism tags. I'm tired of getting weird looks for using my fidget spinner because I NEED it while some edgy neurotypical classmate spins one annoyingly without needing it at all and everyone just dismisses it. I'm tired of having to deal with my parents' hurtful ignorance all the time. I'm tired of being silenced all the time, especially now that I've finally found my voice. I'm tired of constantly being scared to live my life because of hateful people. I'm tired of being shamed for talking about my autism for the first time in YEARS. I'm tired of hardly having any accommodations. I'm tired of people saying "Oh I accept your autism!" and then turning around and relentlessly bashing me for my traits. I'm tired of feeling like a bad person for existing. I'm tired of it... 💔

Hey guys, I'm so sorry for being offline for a while. My parents actually called autism a disease recently, my boyfriend dumped me two days ago, and today someone bashed me because I dmed them about an actually satire picture that didn't seem satire to me and they shamed me for not understanding sarcasm, shit on me for even daring to mention that the reason is my autism, and then called me a r*tard,, I'm having a really tough day and I can't stop crying and I just really need some help...
