When you are trying to lose weight (aka fat), do you look at your "trouble spot" and tell yourself that you are going to get rid of it? Is it flabby arms, a tire around the midsection, or a little too much junk in the trunk? Whatever your case, here is the naked truth - you cannot target your fat loss by doing specific exercises. Simple example - you think doing hundreds of sit-ups will melt the fat off your abs. Exercise targets muscles in that area, your body will decide where it will draw it's energy source from to do those exercises. Specific types of exercise will lead to higher fat loss, but everyone is different. In a perfect world, the fat will "melt" evenly all over the body. What may happen is your face, neck, and arms may lose fat, but your body may hardly adjust (use) the fat around your waist. So as you go through your weight loss journey, find victories and celebrate. Don't look at being healthier, but not immediately losing your extra tire instantly, as a failure. It took years to build the body you have now. You want to change it? It is going to take time and hard work - period. Target health and the results will come.
