One of the brilliant things about designing knitting patterns, is that knitters will take your idea and show it to you in a different way. I had woolly yarns on the brain with #louleighstinyowls, but I LOVED @woollenwords neon owls. Does this make you look at your stash differently? ::

@Regranned from @woollenwords - There’s a tradition round these here parts (#knittersofinstagram) of casting on an indulgent project on Christmas Eve or in the Inbetween Days, and I would like to nominate something from @louleigh_’s new and sweetly wintery Tiny Owls collection, which comprises a pair of socks, mittens and a hat. As you can see, I test-knitted neither the mittens nor the hat. This was my first foray into colourwork socks, and Leigh made it very straightforward, so if you fancy giving it a go, this is a low-stakes way to practise your tension. And look, you get tiny little owls as a bonus! The yarn is all by @thewoolkitchen — Helen’s classic bright Runner, and the so beautifully named Woolverine. Today, the babe and I are off to — where d’ya reckon? I’d give you two guesses but you only need one — @wildandwoollyshop, to meet up with #knitters. And then home to work on the penultimate work project of the year. #Proofreading a book high in #wool content!
