Wide-legged forward fold is a difficult stretch for many. In fact, most of the population would have difficulty sitting upright in this position. We have three ways for you to advance no matter what your current level:

If you have trouble sitting up:
Use your hands behind you (with straight arms) to prop yourself up. Think about lifting your chest to come forward any amount. .
If you are having trouble folding forward: as you fold, breath deeply and calmly while externally rotating your legs. Try to keep your hands off the floor and let gravity do the work. .
If you are close to the ground: think about ARCHING through your low back. Many people round down to the floor to bypass the flexibility in the hips and legs. Think about your belly button being the first thing to touch the floor. And if you want to get insane, keep your hands off the floor πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯

The trolls have been at it again on my transformation pics and while I really try not to give them the time of day (I actually just delete and block now), sometimes the comments just wear you down. If you believe their accusations, my progress over the past two years is just BS and it's all lighting, makeup and clothing πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™€οΈ I have never understood why people feel the need to write horrible things to people they don't know. One of the enlightened folk that commented on a recent photo of mine had the line "don't judge without knowing" in her profile bio. Apparently that only applies to other people and not her 😏
For shits and giggles I have found two pics I don't consider to be super flattering, taken in the same lighting, in the same room with almost the same clothing. Oh and I don't have makeup or fake tan or any of those other apparently "fake progress" creating/enhancing products on in the second pic. I'm almost a pale as the day I was born in the "after" photo 😝

little bit of a different transformation/throwback for you. I know it's pretty long.

as you may know I had a 5KG tumour on my lower back which had been growing since the age of 11 (I am 21) by 16 it was at its largest (probably the size of my head) no one would operate or touch me as it was such a big risk. By the time I was old enough to consent for myself one surgeon said they would try it if I was happy with the risks. Obviously I said yes as I didn't really have much of a life to begin with. With a years planning, endless hospital visits morphine, antidepressants, overdosing, a&e, seizures, hours and hours of surgery preparing for the big one they finally operated. fast forward HDU, my scar opening up & recovery I came off the majority of pain killers but then the pain got bad again and I was back on morphine. I had more procedures done which did nothing. I was going backwards.
morphine started taking over my life it felt like each day was a struggle to stay alive., genuinely was overdosing every day. Fast forward to now, I went cold turkey on morphine again (thanks to the help of my family) around 12 weeks ago. I have been trying to cope with it mentally mostly.

as you can probably imagine growing up with such a large tumour on my back unable to do normal every day things. I developed bad ways of thinking, eating and looking at myself, I went a good few years without even looking at my body in the mirror because I was disgusted; I hid away constantly. I still look in the mirror and see the self conscious disgusting person I used to see my self as, as it's hard to get out of that mind set. I HATE throwing the words anxiety and depression around and I won't go into detail but it got pretty bad. I still struggle now. It's going to be a long process but I am on the journey to find the love for my body I've never had and I am grateful to be here.

wanted to try deva curl’s buildup buster since i’ve been dying to. it was a thick jelly feeling and left my hair dry after i rinsed it out but thats okay since i deep conditioned after using it. my scalp felt just as clean as when i co-wash, so i honestly wouldnt buy this product. i feel as if i dont need it and could save a lot of money clarifying my hair with an acv rince. πŸ’•πŸ’•πŸ’•

I've got a long way to go when it comes to achieving my goals, but it's so important to stop along the way to celebrate progress! As cheesy as it sounds, I've found so much purpose in rediscovering my passion for fitness and living a healthy lifestyle... that in and of itself is worth celebrating. Happy Saturday β˜€οΈπŸ‘ŠπŸΌ

Surprisingly enough....I've never been obsessed about working out my glutes. In all honesty, it's because I already have alot of volume there. So, in retrospect, any sort of obsession with my booty fell to the wayside.
Now that I am well into fitness and have seen the type of growth in my quads, hammies and calves that I've wanted...I've decided now is the time to give my glutes the attention they deserve.
Now don't get it confused....I WOULD work out my glutes but not in the ways that I would the other parts of my legs. I just think big and toned quads are sexy.
I know. I know. I'm supposed to give each body part equal loving because it prevents injury... But the reasoning behind it was to make my body the carving of what I find beautiful and not what SOCIETY tells me I have to look like.
On top of that...Strong quads that can keep someone in my guard...Oh boy, the feeling is amazing. Ever since I started Brazilian jiu-jitsu, I've kind of shifted my goals from being strong just to be strong, to being strong so that when I roll with a guy...I give him a run for his money.
I NEVER want to be underestimated...Actually, go ahead and underestimate...It always makes me work harder. ;) Look at the status quo and think to yourself, "How can I be better? How can I approach it in a way that works for me and in a way that I can excel?" If you want motivation to last, you have to remember something: Motivation that comes from within and motivation that is driven by your standards...Is the type of motivarion that will get you where you wanna go.
Try to avoid extrinsic motivators...Like money, or fame, or followers, or looking like someone else.
Trust me when I say...That that type of motivation won't get you as far as motivation that is driven by goals that only involve something you can control. Accomplishment felt from, money, or followers, or looking like someone else, is fleeting. When you accomplish something that you conjured from within, the sense of accomplishment is deeper and you'll find more happiness.
Always turn to yourself to make yourself happy. No one else can do a better job. ❀️
