POST HOLIDAY DEBLOATING/SHREAD.

Was just going through some old posts and thought I'd do a post on how I lost my holiday bloat and got leaner. So post holiday I was very demotivated and disheartened at my regress in training and physique. It took me a while to get back into training and it took me a few sessions to be able to max out on exercises. So MY ADVICE post holiday is to shift your mindset to 'HOW can I OFFSET this surplus?' to ' HOW can I take ADVANTAGE of this surplus?' 1️⃣ DONT go straight for cardio πŸƒthe amount of calories burned in a cardio session compared to a resistance training session is negligible so I would argue it a waste of time and energy ( provided resistance training is in line with your training goals) the last 3 weeks I have been training heavy and hard. I have been starting my workouts with 1-2 compound movements with decreased rep range 8-10 and increased load. I usually follow this with a range of superset isolation movements to really burn out the body part I am training πŸ™ŒπŸΌ2️⃣ SWEAT- like proper sweat πŸ’¦ post holiday my body was hanging on to load of water which made me bloated. This was due to all the carby, sodium rich foods (Pizza πŸ•) by sweating you are balancing out your sodium levels and loosing that watery bloat 3️⃣ DRINK WATER- the body is funny with regards to water. Water levels are controlled by negative feedback through a process called osmoregulation. Basically the more water you drink the more water you expel and this essentially flushes your body of excess toxins, sodium etc. -
I hoped this helped, these are my three main tips when I want to debloat and get back on track. If the ONLY thing you take from this post is when you have had a surplus of calories DONT PANIC. Utilise the extra calories and rest that you have had and you'll be back on track in no time πŸ’•

@nanobao πŸ™†πŸ» is a regular in my Friday afternoon class (some of you may have seen her doing her med ball punishment slams for her phone usage in class πŸ˜‚). She works hard each time she takes part in class, but still lacks the ease of smooth movement patterns with proper technique.
She has taken initiative to take that next step further, by gathering (or conning - haven't quite figured it out yet) a small number of her gal pals to form a private group class.

Group training & exercises classes can be great for building a community, but often it's a little trickier to plan for specific individual progression.
I must admit that when it comes to group classes, I find it somewhat challenging to continually make the sessions as specific as possible to my regulars who come in on a weekly basis, whilst trying to accommodate for newbies who come along and want to get a good workout in too.
Trying to keep up the creativity (to avoid boredom), fun & games (to keep it all interactive and stimulating), all whilst teaching correct movement patterns (the main focus of what I do)... let's just say it takes a lot of brainpower & observational skills to learn about the girls who walk through and take part in my classes.
In saying that, I do enjoy embracing this challenge though.
