“Before: I was a thin person. I was active but I was doing mainly cardio. I was exercising 7 days a week and would be really hard on myself if I missed a day. I was only eating between 1200-1300 calories; I was always hungry. I was constantly binging and restricting. I would be in tears if I ate pizza or ice cream one day. I was the definition of a “yo -yo dieter.” My energy levels were low; brain fog was super real.

After: Active 4-5 days a week; doing mostly weight lifting. I do one day of cardio (sometimes none) and love love love my rest days. I consume between 1800-2000 calories a day. I no longer binge and restrict. I allow myself to enjoy life and eat those “treats.” Ice cream is my jam 🙃 I don’t let one meal or one cookie get me down. I have so much more energy and my productivity is out of this world, especially at my job. Bye bye brain fog ✌🏼

It’s taken me a long long time to get to this point. I’m still learning everyday. I have good days and bad days. Exercise is more than just about the physical results; I use exercise to make me feel good; I need it for my mental health and to keep me sane. I am super grateful for my journey thus far and for everyone (Kiley) who have helped me get to this point!”

It’s more than a 6 pack, it’s a life that feels DAMN good (and allows room for ice cream, obv 💁🏼‍♀️🍦).

Something I have been reminded about a lot lately is the power of my thoughts, words and feelings.

What we focus on grows.
.
What we put out there... no matter if it is positive or negative comes back to us! It’s scientific!!! Newton’s law!!! For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.
.
For instance... when you give someone receives.
.
You have to be happy first, and give happiness first in order to reserve happy things!
.
We have to live as if we already have what we want, and think in gratitude in order to create more of what we want. It’s the only way it works.
.
So this girl is practicing her intentions and watching her thoughts and words VERY carefully.

I could post touched up pictures, me laughing more, staging every meal I eat and it would be a pretty collection. But that's not what I want. I don't want fake pretty. I want beautifully real.

This is what I see when I look down. I see primarily my stomach. I see very little chest. I see my hand me down shorts and four year old sports bra.
____
This is as real as it gets. I did not work out today. I ate superrrr dirty and to the point of being in pain of how full I was. I was sad and discouraged and primarily lonely. I, in classic fashion, tried to hide sadness in dairy and sugar.
____
Tomorrow will be better.. but today this is really me. Today I could have just not posted. But real is just as needed as inspiration and food ideas. •

Day 3 and I'm feeling good! Already down 5lbs from day 0 weigh-in. (probably mostly water weight, but weight gone is weight gone!!✌🏾️) Yesterday was a TEST y'all!! Met with stakeholders at the office and of course lunch was catered with delicious tasting and gorgeous smelling food #tacotuesday 🌮!!! I took it like a champ 💪🏾 because I was prepared... I had my eating window coming up in few hrs and food ready in the fridge! 🍗🧀👏🏾 .

I’m super unhappy with my body right now. And those of you who know me know that is uncharacteristic of me. I am such a believer in self love and body positivity, no matter your size. But I said “yolo” and “let me live” a little too much this summer. 🤷🏻‍♀️ So this is an honest post to keep it real for y’all. This morning I went for a run (finally training for another half after my injury a year ago), and I was hot so I took off my shirt. And you know what, I felt great. So, LET ME LIVE. I’m a sweaty mess this morning- in a good way- thanks to a quick #coredeforce workout. It’s technically rest day in my current workout program, but I like moving my body 5-6 days a week. So I just take it easier on the rest days, and usually opt for an MMA inspired workout.

I’m feeling much more like myself today too- it’s amazing what proper sleep and nutrition can do for you 😬 My goal is to keep on track with both of those so that I can reap the full benefits of the workouts for the remainder of the program- 3 1/2 weeks. I get caught up in the busyness of my life sometimes and forget how important sleep and food are; but if I stray too long, it always catches up with me 😐
