This message is for one of my followers. I don't know who you are, but I want you to know this. // This must be it. This must be one of the greatest lessons He's teaching us through children. Contentment. I think of the millions of babies whose lives have been cut short because the mom really believed that she still had more in life to do or experience or discover before she was ready for a child. The world sells us the hustle. The world tells us YOU have a life and YOU need to do more and YOU need to plan your days and map out your future and have it ALL figured out. That this beating heart in your womb is too much. Too big. Too outside of your plans. We're ending lives thinking it will save our life, and we continue on our wild goose chase of contentment until we break down one day and realize we're more lost than we've ever been found. But what if that scary, life-changing, heart-wrecking LIFE inside of you offers to bring you what you've been seeking all along? Contentment. Because they do. They will. They don't even mean to. But every day you spend with the child you carried into life you realize that God is more in control of your days than you ever knew. That the world keeps spinning, and people keep chasing, but you...you're right where God invited you. Into the complete surrender of yourself. Into contentment. The circumstances may be tough. The timing might not seem ideal. The father might be long gone from the picture. But I promise you that when the dust settles and you lay next to your baby while their hands curl up by their perfect, soft lips, you will know. You will know you chose LIFE and found LIFE all in the same moment. That you gave up your life and found the love of the Father all in the same breath. You will know you have all you need. And you'll find it. That wild, fleeting, pure thing you've been running after all the while. It was the hope that's heart beat in you. Contentment brought to life. Yours to know if you just believe.
