What's the difference between prewod and postwod movements or stretching? •PREWOD: the warmup should be designed to prime your central nervous system. The movements I like to select will increase heart rate, bring blood supply to soft tissue, lubricate the joints and create patterns of stability and mobility around the joints. I like to choose sport specific exercises as well as movements to combat sitting at a desk. •POSTWOD: the "cool down" should incorporate a down regulation of the nervous system, lower the heart rate, and create relaxation. Static stretching is a great option, be mindful and focus on the breath. The stretches I'll choose for postwod are usually related to what I did in my training session to help to the recovery process.
