Annie’s POV || Chapter 21
I walked into the kitchen, all happy and smiling. “What’s got you so excited?” Brooke asked, laughing a little at me. “You promise not to tell anyone?” I said, holding out my pinky. She latched her’s onto mine and pressed her thumb against mine. “I promise. Now tell me!!” She squealed, placing her hands on my shoulder. “Okay okay! I’m... dating Hayden.” I said quickly, smiling. Her eyes got big before she squealed even more. I quickly put my hands over her mouth, shushing her. “Shush, Brooke!” I said, giggling. “Wait... what about Rush?” Brooke said, frowning. She must know that Rush likes me. “We’re just friends, Brooke. He’ll get over his feelings for me.” I waved it off. But inside I was a little nervous. What if he doesn’t get rid of his feelings? What if he ends up liking me...
“Are you sure, Annie? You guys spent over a month together when we were apart. You seen the way Rush looked at Hayden when he got close to you.” Brooke said, sighing. “I just feel bad for him.” She said.
I suddenly had an idea. “What if we go to the mall or state fair? We can find him someone there!” I exclaim. “I don’t know Annie. He se-“ Brooke got cut off by Hayden walking in the kitchen. I smiled brightly as he pulled me to his side, kissing my temple. “Soo...” Brooke droned out, rocking on her heels. “How did you ask her Hayden?” Brooke said awkwardly, looking at me momentarily. “Well, mostly I woke her up at three AM so we could go graffiti a wall. Then she realized what we drew and i popped the question.” He shortened the story. *flashback*
A few hours later the wall was filled with different colors, it was beautiful. “Hayden, what did you do?” I asked curiously, backing up. “Oh my...” I cut myself off, gasping.
It was me and him. Holding hands, side by side with our backs facing.
Holy shit. “Holy...” I got cut off by him standing in front of me. “Annie, Ive been an asshole to you. A complete asshole. I lied to you. I brung more danger. And I’m sorry. I know you’ve done accepted my apology but i wanted to say it again. I’m sorry. I really don’t know what this rant is exactly but Annie, I like you.
