Five days out and ready to do some work. After 550 carbs I managed to get a decent chest pump while doing a leg workout. Time to hit the stage soon and get back into that improvement season!

I’ve just been surviving, thriving and taking some time to try to get my life together! Also it blows my mind how @orangefury_s550 can get PERFECT pictures of his car, and I can’t even get a clear selfie. 😩😭😂 I’ll blame it on the fact that I hit chest and shoulders hard today and my arms were shaking. 🙃

This is without a doubt the toughest prep I have had to date. I have already had to push out two show dates because I know I just won’t have my best by then. That is hard to accept for me.. it makes me question if I failed because I missed a target.. it adds time to my prep meaning I don’t feel like there is an end in sight, and point blank it makes me want to say screw it and give up. But then I stop and think about that for a moment.. I haven’t failed, because I haven’t given up. I still dragged myself out of bed at 5am to do cardio, I still made it to my job on time, I am still following my diet, basically I am doing all the things I have to do. I used to tell myself to just win the day, now it’s more like just win the moment.. but as long as I am pushing I will win those moments, and then I will win those days, those weeks.. the progress will come I just have to be mentally strong enough to endure it. Targets may slip, but it’s not in me to quit! I started this journey years ago because doubters said I would never make it to my first competition, I proved them wrong.. now my biggest doubter is in my own head. So from this point on, screw that guy.. I refuse to listen to a doubter even if it’s my own brain. I will make it back to that stage.. I will bring the best package I have had to date.. Let's be real, prep isn't a walk in the park especially with back to back shows and dieting for long periods of time. Some days just SUCK and you feel like you'll barely make it through the day but regardless of how tired you are or how you feel, you get the work done because no one else is gonna do it for you. Prep is just as much a mental thing as it is physical and some days you need to shut off your mind and just get the work done

Competition prep is hard. Not everyone can do it. If you walk the walk and put the work in, your efforts will show. In my 13 years of competing and upward of 25+ shows, this was probably one of the hardest preps I’ve done. Battling an injury and sensitivities, I pushed through. There were days I wanted to give up but didn’t. I stayed the course and followed the plan. I put the work in and suffered some too. There was a goal and finish line I needed to cross. ~~~
There will be days you want to give up....don’t. Keep your eyes on the prize, keep pushing, suffer and get to heaven. Today was my nephews 4th birthday party! If you swipe you can see what my food intake looked like at the party. I got a little crazy with the dip lol but this is it. I brought my own 3oz of lean protein and I had a game plan ahead of time to stay focused on just eating my veggies and enjoying the party. I had cupcakes, ice cream, meatballs, pasta salad... so many yummy things all around me and I had to stay strong😂 For those close to a show, go to the party and enjoy yourself. Understand that if you’re far into your prep, you’ll probably throw up from eating that crap anyway so it’s easier to avoid it than normal lol. Bring some veggies as a snack, or even pack a protein shake and go be social! We don’t have to give our lives up for the sake of being on a strict diet. Once you give up eating the bad stuff, you rarely crave it. Be strong, have fun, enjoy yourself and as you eye up a cupcake remember how hard you’ve worked to get where you’re at!🎂🍦👉🏼🥦🥕
