"Children need the freedom to appreciate the infinite resources of their hands, their eyes, and their ears; the resources of forms, materials, sounds and colours" 🖌 • Loris Malaguzzi
It’s so lovely to see little ones enjoying @homeedprintables resources. These are my Fall Count & Clip Cards - they make a great addition to morning baskets! A fun Counting Activity using beautiful images!

#Repost@iheartcraftythings ・・・ What would your paper bag monster look like? My personal favorite is the purple one with those long eyelashes and crazy tongue. 😁 This craft is so much fun to make at home as a family activity or with a group of children at school.
Ohhhhh nap time... let's take a classroom full of three or four years olds and have them lay on cots and sleep...that sounds easy!!! Said NO teacher EVER!!! Here are some tips to make nap time a bit more 'doable' Try to make the transition to nap less chaotic. Most schools transition from lunch to making beds, to nap, this can be a very busy transition. I love offering children a 'bed helper' that is when a child who is finished can offer to make or help a friend make their bed. Once all of the beds are made I like to read a story while I walk around and show the pictures. I let them know my expectations first and I promise them that I will turn my body so everyone gets to see the pictures. I also remind them that if it's too loud and busy I will have to close the book. I read the story in a calm voice and give gentle reminders as needed. When the book is done I speak softly and tell them I will come cover them. I turn on quiet music and I give a lot of non verbal positive reinforcements, I.E. a thumbs up with a big smile, I sign the words thank you or great job! I also walk around the room quietly and slowly giving quite praise or reminders as needed. If the whole group is restless I will gently talk as I walk around saying things like "it's so nice to close our eyes, to rest our bodies, to take deep breaths, to have nice dreams. Just remember that the children will follow your lead, if you are calm and positive during nap time they will tend to be too. Once children start to fall asleep I then can sit next to the children who may need more attention to fall asleep. #naptime#preschoollife#preschoolteachersofinstagram#preschoolteacherlife#preschoolteachers#transitions#calm#positive#gentle#naptimemusic#preschool#prek#preschoolteacher#prekteacher#earlychildhoodeducator#ece#childdevelopment#earlychildhoodeducation
