Happy #DueDate Baby Josie 💛 she has a lot of people waiting on her to meet her. Being at this stage in pregnancy is weird lol. It’s wanting to stay busy so I keep my mind off of wondering if this is “the day” but not wanting to stray very far from home or the hospital in case it is “the day”. To be honest I’m not very uncomfortable physically but it’s mostly just mentally & emotionally wearing not knowing when she’ll be here. This study investigated the potential neuro-protective role of regular maternal exercise, before and during pregnancy, against amyloid-β neurotoxicity (which induce neuronal loss and cognitive impairments) in the adult offspring. .

“Behavioral and neurochemical analyses were performed 14 days after male offspring received a single, bilateral, intracerebroventricular (icv) injection of the harmful amyloid-β oligomers (AβOs). .

AβOs-injected rats of the sedentary maternal group exhibited learning and memory deficits, along with reduced synaptophysin, brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) levels, and alterations of mitochondrial function. .

Strikingly, the offspring of the sedentary maternal group had AβOs-induced behavioral alterations that were 👏🏻prevented👏🏻 by maternal exercise. This effect was accompanied by preventing the alteration of synaptophysin levels in the offspring of exercised dams.

Having so much fun in this training phase 🤗
Hitting each muscle group in both the lengthened and the shortened position (flexed and stretched) in each workout in my current programming 💪🏼

The first exercise shown targets the medial delts in the shortened position at the top of the movement— where they are flexed.
The second works them in the lengthened position toward the bottom of the motion (I LOVE cable lateral raises for this.) We also did the same for quads and front delts in this workout 😅 .

This is just one option to consider while designing a workout, depending on your desired outcome, training level, and programming phase, but contributes to a well-rounded workout that will help to shape that muscle group and help the surrounding joints stay healthy 😄

Day 2 and I am already ❤️’ing this program!! You can go as hard and heavy with the weights as you’d like or what your body can handle 💪🏻🔥 and we went all out today .. as you can tell by that dazed look in my eyes 😂. .

Today I am 25 weeks pregnant 🤰

Baby is about the size of an ear of an acorn sqaush

So far I have gained 24 pounds 😱

I have grown 10 inches in my waist🙉

Feeling lots of movement from baby boy especially when resting and after eating😋

Food aversions are chicken on the bone

Cravings are for Halo Halo (all my fellow Filpinos know about that deliciousness)🍦 Since I got back to my regular diet I have not had a leg cramp this week!!!!🙌 I do feel like my varicose veins are getting worse...🙁 Especially on my right leg

I am trying to elevate my legs more and wear my compression workout pants along with massage

Hopefully that can help a little

Also getting a little swelling in my hands and feet if I am in the heat for too long

Still trying to work out but choosing to modify more since I get so out of breath so easily. Plus teaching group fitness 4 times a week 💪

Also still trying to make clean balanced food choices about 80% of the time. All whiel still enjoying treats.

Completed day 1 of this new program. Nicks response after, “Is he trying to kill me??” 🤣🤷🏽‍♀️

Needed a little ShaunT in my life this morning... then I’m thinking I may have started to regret it just a smidge later on in the day. I fully modified Speed 1.0, but I’m still feeling it and a lot sooner than I normally would 🤷🏼‍♀️. .

Another solid workout in the books. I wonder what babe is thinking when I’m doing my workouts (all that movement and all). I mean.. I know what I’m thinking when he doesn’t stop moving/rolling around 🤔🙈 Here’s a lower body workout for ya! Lots of unilateral movements to isolate those hamstrings and glutes 🍑

I took my “before” photos for the start of our 8 week lifting and HIIT program, and although I am really uncomfortable with them, I wanted to gain a better perspective by putting them next to my 1 week postpartum photos. There is 2 months between these photos and about 30 pound difference. I was puffy, swollen, and tired, but I was also happy, loved, and celebrating new life. I want to remember these moments, because I don’t ever want to take my body for granted. I want to remember every stage it went through because it is resilient. And when I notice myself picking my body apart, I can look back to remember where I came from. That body that carried your 3rd and final baby. The strong core that housed his little body for 40 weeks. The breast that will sustain him in his first couple of years. The arms that will cradle him. The legs that will rock him back and forth. I want to remember it all.

I used to think that you couldn’t feel self-love along with the desire to change at the same time. I thought that wanting to change your body meant that you didn’t love your body where it was at. I now understand that you can have both. Thank you to my IG fam for riding with me at all sizes. Many of you guys have been with me since the get go, and you the real ones. ✊🏽

1 week pre pregnancy to now.
