WEEKLY CHECK IN: 36 weeks 🤰🏼
Well, I didn’t formally compete today like I was thinking about, but I decided to have an informal me vs me competition in my garage gym at 9 months pregnant. The last time I did this I was 23 weeks pregnant. Here’s the comparison ➡️
2️⃣3️⃣ weeks pregnant:
🏋🏼‍♀️Squat- 225#
🏋🏼‍♀️Bench- 146#
🏋🏼‍♀️Deadlift- 240#
Total- 611#

3️⃣6️⃣ weeks pregnant:

🏋🏼‍♀️Deadlift- 270#
Total- 690#
👏🏻 👏🏻 In 3 months I’ve added 80+ pounds to my total, and created an almost ready for the world human! I’ve also added 65# to my competition total (which I don’t really count because I’m also like 45# heavier than when I competed).This will be the last time I challenge my body like this. The next 4 weeks will be just going with the flow and listening to my body. Even though I feel like hell about 90% of the day, working out still feels good, and helps keep me sane. 26 more days!

23 weeks 🤰🏼vs 35 weeks 🤰🏼
Three months ago I tested my maxes and felt amazing about this huge lifetime PR of 146# on bench (left). Yesterday I had 5 sets of 4 reps at 142.5# that went up like cake (right). I need to thank my coach @melsmoves who had mentioned on a post of mine a while back that while I have gained 40# this pregnancy, I have gained a decent amount of muscle in these 9 months (holy hell I am 9 months pregnant). It feels amazing to put these videos next to each other and see my progress in strength, and not just see the weight gain, or the bump grow. This is my hard work and effort, and my results.
🤛🏻Tomorrow instead of competing with some of my fellow lifters, I’ll do another “mock meet” in my garage and see where my numbers are, just because. Wish me luck!

I may not be able to squat my body weight like I could seven months ago, but I’m still getting it done consistently with an extra 20 lbs in the front. And I’m growing a human, which is pretty badass.

Feeling really grateful that I’ve been able to keep up my workout routine throughout this journey. Pregnancy comes with a lot of mental and physical challenges, but I feel good knowing that I’m providing a (mostly) healthy and strong home for this little guy until he arrives.

Lazy late night bench session. I’ve been lifting in the morning for quite sometime now, but I used to LOVE getting in a good workout after work. When I got pregnant and insomnia hit, the extra adrenaline from my workouts didn’t do me any favors when trying to hit the hay. Now, I wake up so tired that it’s hard for me to slip my session in before work, so I’m trying to get in some lifts at night and see how my body reacts. So anyway, here’s some bench in pajamas and no shoes.

WEEKLY CHECK IN: 35 weeks 🤰🏼
I’m 33 days away from my due date, and anxiously awaiting little mama to make her appearance. My body this week has been nothing but trouble.. heart burn of a fire breathing dragon, shortness of breath in almost every position, pelvic pain that just won’t quit, and a bladder that wants to be emptied every 10 minutes 😂 despite all of this, this shared body of mine still allows me to participate in my sport relatively pain free. It still shocks me how simply walking is painful, but putting 225# on a bar is not. I’m so thankful that it isn’t, and I’m hoping to keep this up until she comes. I’m going to change a few things around next week, and repeat this workout next Saturday because it felt a little too tough for my liking. I need to be smart with my body if I want it to continue to be kind enough to let me lift.

This was not the programmed workout, this was not the workout I had in mind... but at 35 weeks pregnant I’m happy to be able to lift in general. My body feels like it’s being torn apart, I hardly recognize myself in the mirror, so this is all I know right now. Powerlifting is what is keeping me together and one of the only things that make me feel “normal”.
