Day Two back in the gym! My legs felt pretty sore after yesterday and as hard as it was to get out of bed I made it!
6x3 - Felt sooo heavy today but worked up to 190x3 according to our new SugarWOD app it’s a PR but I’m not sure about that, but it’s been so long I’ll take it! The snatch workout was fun, thought I loaded 75 for those and apparently forgot to put the other 10 on 🤦🏼‍♀️!! Either way it was a great workout, I knew I could go heavier and that was a good feeling and whether I’ll be able to walk later is questionable.
Finally got to try my @vadenutrition chocolate protein with some cold brew this morning and it is SOOOOOO good!!!! Shaking it up with some ice gave it a nice little frothiness on top!!! Mm mm MMMMM! #crossfit #crossfitmoms #precisionmovement #weightlifting #womanwholift #squats #snatch #sugarwod

I define control the way Moshe Feldenkrais did as “movement reversibility”, which means that at any point during a movement it can be stopped and reversed along the same path. When you apply this principle, there is no momentum and simple movements and tasks become challenges of strength, balance and mobility. Wanna punch and kick harder? Hit a ball farther? Run faster? Then don’t neglect training the rotational (transverse) plane - all too often we get stuck doing straight line movements when EVERY sport (except maybe fencing) requires rotation. Here I’m doing a few kettlebell drills to get this done. When training for power keep sets short and sweet and focus on technique and explosiveness then recover fully between sets i.e. chill the fuck out; DO NOT turn power training into an aerobics class and do these drills circuit style for a minute each because “you can feel the burn” or because it hurts or is hard or some other unscientific non-physiological reason. #precisionmovement #scientifictraining #trainsmartandhard

Another year has passed and here I am STILL chasing these goals. I never realized how hard it would be to balance work, school, being a mom AND morning gym time. I don’t sleep enough and my RA certainly contributes to my exhaustion.
