I started in tree pose with half lotus and then very slowly lowered down. Once you feel strong and grounded on the ball mount of your tootsies, you can reach around for the bind, and then lift one arm for an added challenge in concentration and balance. Seriously, I'm love-love-loving all of the different variations everyone is taking to make this challenge uniquely your own. Instructions: 1. Stand in Tadasana. 2. Shift your weight to your left leg and bring your right leg up. Grasp your right foot and bring your right knee out to the side, drawing your heel up towards your navel. 3. Place your foot in the crease of your left thigh. 4. Keeping your leg in place, bend forward and touch the floor with your hands. 5. Bend your left knee and sit on your left heel. Your heel should not be touching the ground. 6. Balance on your toes and bring your palms together in a prayer position.
Oh, and then there's the fear, the self-recrimination, the shame because you fucked up a deadline or missed a meeting or said the absolute wrong thing to someone who expects you to be smart and "totes with it." Not to mention you suddenly realize you've been shit at staying in touch with people who matter. How to find strength in moments of gracelessness, relapse, all that anxiety? Not really sure. But I've got this pretty log-stump-sculpture thing and a nice toe stretch going on and a kinda straight spine. It's a start. K E E P O N K E E P I N G O N. One of the greatest things is that we have the ability to make our own life (and someone else's life) better. I believe that every small act we make is manifested in to our next self, we are continuously growing in to our best self and there is no cap on this or signal to tell us we have reached our peak. We can prevent this growth, put ourselves in a box, avoid any type of challenge and not step outside our comfort zone. But then how would we grow? How would we develop? How would we become stronger? We are our own limitation, so it's about time we stop stopping ourselves. 🙌
Day 3 of #AdLibAsanas 🌴🐚 Fun fact about me: I'm a perfectionist. On the other hand, one of my biggest flaws is being unpunctual and all of you who know me, know, that I have a habit of arriving late. Once I read, that a study was conducted in this matter, and they found out, that there are two types of people in this world. Both of them experience time differently: "Always early" individuals estimate that a minute goes by in 58 seconds while "always late" individuals judge each minute to last 77 seconds. Being habitually late, is less a matter of time management than it is an overall outlook we have on the world around us. In other words, I'm such an optimist really!
