It's hard to believe that this time last week we were rushing to stores for hurricane supplies and were glued to the weather channel looking for where Irma was going next.
It's been less than one week since Irma made landfall in Florida, but boy does it seem like a lot longer.
I feel incredibly humbled through this whole experience. Our community has suffered a lot of damage, but overall we have been blessed and the outpouring of love that everyone has shown us has been so wonderful. To have family, friends (even people that I haven't talked to in ages) reach out to me, checking on us or offering help has touch my heart more deeply than I can express.
While we are still without power, we are so fortunate that that is our biggest concern. I say all this to encourage you to continue to pray and send support to those in Miami , The keys, Marco island , Naples, Jacksonville, Puerto Rico, Cuba, BVI, etc... as they continue to struggle to put their lives back together.
So please continue sending your support, however that may look for you -- donations, supplies, volunteering, or just continued thoughts and prayer. The hurricane may have moved on from Florida and from the headlines of the news, but trust me, Irma is still being felt here. We have continued to have problems with flooding, sink holes and other major issues related to Irma. ☀️here is how to help:
Cedar Hammock Fire Rescue and COTCFAMILY have teamed up to send relief help to Southwest Florida that was hit hard. If you have any extra non-perishable items such as bottled water, granola bars, crackers, batteries, flashlights, first aid kits, baby supplies, disposable diapers, wipes, formula, dog and cat food, hand sanitizer, new/packaged underwear or socks, portable generators, etc., that you would like to donate.
Two drop off areas are available: Cedar Hammock Station 1 located 5200 26th Street West or Church of the Cross (COTC) Lobby at 5051 26th Street West. We will continue to collect items and go south as long as it is necessary.
Thanks again for all your love, Kindness, support and prayers. 💕
