My first day climbing outside was lots of fun! Only sent this one climb, Gateway, v3 (?). I had no expectations for the day but still managed to try hard on some climbs and have a great time!

This device is called pulse-oxymeter. It’s used to measure the pulse and the amount of oxygen saturation in your blood at that moment. It has a little red light inside you put you finger nail against it and what it does is to take into consideration any blood color variation. The more purple your blood gets, the lower oxygen you have in bloodshed the lower the number shown on top of the device. Lower info in the device is the actual heart pulse.

The picture is showing the result of a breathing exercise to produce natural EPO in your body. This happens the following way: when you go into a state of very low oxygen in blood, your spleen contracts and releases more red blood cells into the body to compensate, as well as sends a message to the bone marrow to also generate more red blood cells and there’s a release of EPO hormones in the body through the kidneys. There are other things happening in the body at the same time.

This pre-match preparation is ideal for any competition or performance that takes less that 12 min.

Warning: Don’t do any breathing exercises to enhance performance if you don’t know how to proceed. It takes time and practice as well as there’s knowledge behind to understand what’s happening. Best way would be to contact an experienced professional.

Todays workout was supposed to be 3x10/2:30r R20 @ 2k +15. The first rep is at 2k pb +14.9 but as I'm not rowing fit I quickly switched to the Skierg to finish the session at 2k pb +13.4/500. Completely forgot to show you Andrews conditioning session last week, so here it is since we focused on squats today.
(115kg for 2 reps by the way! The weights definitely firing up now!)
So last week we did a power endurance focused conditioning session which really pushed him physically.
Training to maintain explosive power throughout each round is not easy. You can see the difference between the first and last round in the two videos.

Struggling is not a sign that you are weak, but a sign that you are pushing yourself to new limits.

So last we did:
Stairs Sprints - 2 mins
1 min rest
Med Ball Wall Throws - 1 min
1 min rest
Tyre Flips - 1 min
1 min rest
Uppercuts - 1 min
2 mins rest
repeat x4

Who fancies giving that a go?

Two of the many areas of performance that we focus on for our athletes are 1. Power Endurance, and 2. Healthy Shoulders.

1️⃣ Power Endurance - Hockey players require a great deal of "power endurance", the ability to generate and maintain explosive power through explosive movements, over an extended period of time. 🏒

2️⃣ Healthy Shoulders - Hockey is an incredibly physical sport, and the intense contact can damage your shoulder if it lacks sufficient strength. Forwards and defensemen must be able to give and take body checks, often with their shoulder as the primary point of impact, without injuring themselves. Even goalies need strong shoulders to stabilize their arms when making glove saves or sprawling for a puck. Your shoulders must be stable, or you could get injured. 💪🏼

If you love the process of working hard to be rewarded then try this pulling endurance circuit! For martial artists having pulling strength is important, and having the ability to do it over longer periods is vital! This could make the difference between winning and losing! Can you hold your strength and power in the later part of the fight or rounds? This 4 exercise circuit will help you develop those qualities.
