Is it strange that really I love pause squats? I just love squats. 7x3 at 70% with 60 sec controlled rests feeling fab, and I put all my focus on executing them with the best possible form possible, focusing on not letting my hips shift and envisioning the bar path each rep. #alwaysstrivingtobebetter
Ok, I know what I just said about squats, but Bulgarian split squats, on the other hand... Well, truth be told, I’m kind of fond of them, even though I’m, well, not so great at them. They’re so humbling, especially after pause squats and 4x4 glute bridge at 275lb (for a casual 50lb #PR 😁). Who am I kidding? The split squats would have been just as much of a struggle bus had they come first. They’re just hard. Especially when you’re graceful like me. 💃
And since we’re all so great about posting our highlight reels, after my highlights, swipe for some of the less than graceful struggle that comes along with it. (Thoughts running through my head: Keep a neutral spine. Find the right distance for your front foot so the front leg does all the work. Is it easier with my back toe bent or down? Oh, they’re both uncomfortable. Help. How many more? Focus. Balance. If you do them faster it will be over sooner. 🙈)Thanks to @ihartstrength for the 🎥 and laughing along with me!
