Still struggling with the weird hip shift, but in the bright side my hips felt a lot more relaxed and opened! Slowly easing my way back to normally squatting w/o adductor/hip pain 🙂 Gonna be experimenting w/ pauses to help my confidence outta the hole. Unfortunately piss, grit, and a mild tourette attack (thank you, @bobalifts 😂😂) was not enough to help me get that last rep up.
Anywho: I'm always so eager to share my successes on here with my fitfam, that I'd be remiss to not also share my failures- they're as much a part of the journey as anything; What matters now is that I learn from today's experience, and move forward accordingly.
Recently made some big changes to my squat- brought the bar up my back, and took my stance in, and while ultimately I believe that this will benefit my squat in the long run from a technical and mechanical aspect-- to go from squatting with a wide stance with the bar very low on my back for well over a year, it goes without saying that I'm am at the moment weaker due to being new to this position.
SO! In that aspect I've got my work cut out for me going forward, however, with the support and advice from the fit fam (shout out to @seaswimswam for prompting me to try out this new squat stance, and @rickywoolworth for letting me pester him for tips on accessories and cues to help get my technical proficiency with this new form down pat) I am eager to see how this pans out!

A nice little 635lbs box squat off a high box. I'm trying to get used to heavy weight again. This is a nice overload exercise and I'm hoping it will help with my squat lockout. I don’t usually post gym videos for a couple of reasons....a) because I’m not that strong and b) because weights is something I usually do alone. I was proud of this one though. I’ve been working pretty hard these last couple months. I still consider myself in recovery from my ACL reconstruct and this is an accomplishment. 195 lbs.
