Heels v flats? Last night @webby_85 got me to experiment with pin squats. I wonder which looks better? Which feels better? Which is actually stronger? 🤔

My highly scientific instapoll showed a fairly even number of my followers wear flats as do heels 🤓. Flats felt stronger for me doing pin squats... but it may be because I’m used to them. Interesting 😄

Last week on vacation my top set for both of these was 3. Repeated today and got squat 155x5 and bench 110x5. Been a stressful week so I’ll take it. Now just need to work on my shifting in the hole during squats. At least sumos went better. Working on sitting back into it to prevent the butt coming up, think it's all starting to click. Also, I'm loving my fabulous new leggings from @2xu, very comfy!

Took advice from @jessebrint and picked up some short shorts. Now, I can powerlift and be my own cheerleader all at the same time! 😂 Worked up to a heavy sleeved triple @ 440, followed by a single @ 465 in wraps, and back down for 3 sets of 4 @ 375. Widened my stance and put on the legacy lifters because I’ve had some pain in my calves, and I want to use my hips more with the sleeves. Just trying to spread my taint 😂 #PovertySquat #WolfLife #SilverCityBarbell #USPACT #USPA July 7th, about 5 weeks out! It’s gonna start getting heavy!

Back to building. 😳 First time feeling any sort of pump in almost 3 months. Did a quick 5x5 then did hoards of rows and ab roller. Told myself to just ease back into things but I feel pretty trashed. 😳😳 Main focus on bench now; staying tight when paused on the chest.. Almost got called for heaving at the meet.. 😏 can't have that lol.

Nothing going well with squatting at the minute with trying to recover from a Hip injury! First time to be back over 180kg in a little while though!

Probably gonna spend the next few months working on my many squat technique deficiencies. Started with touch n go box squats at depth - purely to work on my knee position in the hole (no I have not started Westside 😅).

Next week making some tweaks to work on my torso angle relative to shin angle. Also doing pin squats just above parallel once a week to work on positioning just out of the hole.

Even though these two variations are quite horrible I’m embracing the pain for long term gain. One day I swear I’m gonna have a decent squat 😠😠😠

Sigh.. Deadlifts from last Saturday.. The lift I was most worried about. Beforehand I was begging my coaches to remain conservative because I was so worried about going to snap city again, I worked so damn hard to rehab my back, and after squats and deads my core was getting sore. 😑During warm ups I felt powerful af tho. I just kept going up and each lift would feel the same.. .
My first attempt at 314 is the fastest anything 305+ has ever gone up😳😳 Then 352 was a breeze, zero back discomfort, and judging by my lockout I had an easy 15-20lbs more in me, I slightly regret not going higher but the way 352 moved makes me ectastic.. It seems all that peaking went straight to my deads hehe. Can't complain with that!🖤

Here's my bench attempts from Saturday; first attempt was at 159 and it flew so fast, no video because I've posted 160 millions of times lol. After squats it was a mental relief to start bench, during warmups everything felt crazy good. .
Then after hitting 181 on my second attempt I knew maybe just a few lbs more and I would've got it but my testosterone fueled coaches thought differently and put a little more than I was capable, and I am perfectly ok with that! 181 is basically my max (185) so i was content. 🙏 .Then on 193 as I was setting up I got a mad charlie horse in my lats as you can kinda see..😳😳
After 181, one of the side judges said I'm on the verge of heaving but still gave me 3 white lights hehe.. SHW lyfe.
