It's what happens when your anti allergy backfires and it instead of putting you to sleep reignites your insomnia. Well. Hello random thoughts whom I haven't visited in decades. Sharing one tonight because life's too short and why shouldn't you know more about me.
Speaking of decade, I think I read this poem way back probably more than a decade ago at the back of a Lahore Gymkhana newsletter (this I remember like it happened yesterday). Whudda thought ?
This was the time when I was hungry for anything that spelled into a word. Anything. Readers digest, medical digest (because my grandfather was a doctor and we had hundreds of those lying around) atlases (not much to read in those but I enjoyed exploring the world at the tip of my finger). Anyway you get the gist. I was a magnet and words were my North Pole.
Don't remember the year unfortunately but I do remember being mesmerized by this poem being a kid back then. Had never been fond of poems but do remember this one leaving a mark so much so that I read this in my literature class some years later after that too (remember shedding a tear or two then because losses were fresh then)
I didn't know people attributed this poem to funerals and obituaries because aren't the occasions for those who don't get a say at all?! Deep no?
