For Greg, Pig in a Poke - Stone-Ground Grits, Andouille Sausage,
Two Poached Eggs, Mixed Baby Lettuce, Toast.

Brunch yesterday at Tipsy Parson. Fried pickles to start.

Lovely dinner in w the hubby - roasted chicken thighs w herb sauce and roasted beets, cauliflower and broccoli. Served w an aged Chardonnay.

On the side, roasted cauliflower and broccoli on lentil purée.

Roasted leg of lamb all sliced up. Results were delicious if I do say so. St. Joseph made a lovely pairing.

Dinner w friends last night: roasted leg of lamb w rosemary. Martha's recipe- http://www.marthastewart.com/967963/roasted-leg-lamb

A happy and simple start to the weekend-- English muffins w salmon, tomatoes, and a hint of tartar sauce.

Dinner last night- salmon topped w sautéed fennel, onions, and capers on rice. Lovely w 2012 Loimer Gruner.

This is what happens when wine geeks BYO.

Delicious and hearty results!: root vegetable cassoulet w chicken sausage and herbed crumb topping. Served w 1987 Le Cigare Volante = one very good Sunday dinner ... W plenty of leftovers to boot.

Mised everything out like a good girl.

I got on the cassoulet weekend bandwagon yesterday. I opted for this lighter version from Daniel Boulud ... But added a little chicken sausage back in.

New recipe for Roasted Beets w Caramelized Onions, Greens and Cheese now up on the blog: http://www.nibblinggypsy.com/2015/01/roasted-beets-with-greens-onions-and.html

Dinner last night-- roasted chicken w smoky chili glaze. Pretty tasty if I do say so myself.

Before heading back up to the frigid cold, we had one last feast w the fam at Vignetos Italian Grill -- mussels, sausage w broccoli rabe (shivalata & rapini), veal saltimboca, scallops and linguine, and tartufo. These two picky NYers left very full and very happy.

I took all the leftovers from the feast my parents made (mostly the few remaining kebabs), and made a strata. Tossed it all in a casserole dish with pieces of bread, covered it with raw scrambled egg w a little of milk and next morning's brekkie was done. Let the egg soak in over night, pop in the oven at 350 for about 45 min. One of my favorite ways to use up leftovers.

Just a few stragglers from the end of our vacay last weekend-once back on the mainland, the 'rents made a fabulous BBQ for the fam and some of my oldest buds.
