You think you’re doing something wrong ? No you don’t. But if you try to get a new client then you have to get used to rejections. For myself it took me over 56 cold e-mails to get my first client. This sounds fast, but it wasn’t. It took me then another. Whole month until the work was done and I got paid. Just because there was a lot of questions and I don’t wanted to lose my first possible client. If I look now at how I worked back then, then I feel dumb because I slowed myself down. If I had written 50 personalised cold e-mails every day, then I would have earned now much more. But first you’ll have to get used to rejections. Not everyone will be interested in your product or service. Some people even don’t understand he value of content marketing. It’s not your task to teach them better. If someone says no then move on to the next person who wants to talk with you and yes you could give it a follow-up, but why do you bother yourself ? That person might have no or just a little interest. So, move to the person with interest.
You must get immun for rejections. If you get rejected from a client, then don’t think about it. Think about where you can find the people who are interested in your services or products. You must keep focussed. Otherwise you’ll waste your time, fall in a hole and just slow yourself down.
