Since it was legal I have always had my own car to drive, although I must confess I was driving (taught by my dad) off-road before I was the legal age. Many stories to be told there.
Dad was certainly a character that believed the best teaching method was to drop you in the deep-in knowing that you would work it out (one way or another, sooner or later...lol). I personally loved that he challenged me. But I am off the point now. Memories of my dad will do that to me.
But... having been a driver all my life, I have been pleasantly surprised that lately, whilst being a passenger, I have found great joy.
I am not a passive passenger. I absorb as much as possible. Even on the roads that are so familiar to me I will spot something that is different.
Life is fantastic, as it changes it hues, directions, activities. Don't take it for granted.
A couple of days ago I looked out of my north facing windows to a beautiful blue sky, cotton white fluffy clouds. Then as I looked through the eastern facing window I saw the dark clouds moving quickly towards me, the wind was announcing the rain that soon came. The heavy drenching was magnificent and I was left wanting more.
What has happened in your life lately that has left you wanting more? What are you doing about it?
Whether you are a driver or passenger, or whatever direction of the compass you are looking, don't overlook the simple majesty in each day.
