Kellie was new on the staff here at the Comfort Inn, where we were staying. It was her 3rd day!
She has had quite a life. She became deaf when very young due to severe infections which blew both of her eardrums. This was surgically corrected when she was five, and she can now hear just fine. I had asked her about her accent (I thought I heard some southern drawl in there), which is when she told me about it, and mentioned how she tends to pick up other accents easily due to the surgery.
She also was homeless not long ago due to family circumstances. She lived in her car for a bit, reached out to a homeless shelter, and has been on a different road, since.
She loves God, is involved with a church, and her recent trial in life connected her with an organization in the area called "Love, Inc", which stands for "Love In the Name of Christ." They even helped her recently when she became sick.
She continues to give back where she is able, even if it doesn't look as it should to many.
She was so kind, and the more we spoke, the more I felt drawn to ask her for a photo, and she readily accepted.
She really took a liking to Bella, and Bella got a lot of love from Kellie.
