Here's a #baws for @fiitgirlkayla I’m practicing my hard core self-care bootcamp again this week. Listening to music and doing a puzzle. I think it's helping. My girl @unicorn_vibes07 posted something about getting your mind right first and the rest will fall into place. I'm not doing this challenge at 100% this round. I was disappointed by the lack of results last time and I realized all the meal prepping and grocery store runs (do large grocery stores give anyone else serious anxiety?!) and workouts and IG posts were eliminating all my free time. I wasn't fitgirl crafting or meditating like I wanted to be. So I'm going back to basics and working on getting my mind healthy again. The rest WILL follow. And it has to. Because I just got my fitting for my bridesmaids dress (which I ordered in a size down 😱) and it's snug. It ZIPS though! So that's a win. Happy hump day y'all. May you be crafting or meditating or bullet journaling or reading or sipping your favorite tea or sitting in a bubble bath with your phone and your worries far away. ❤️

I'm the "helper" in all my various roles in life. I am the one who gives without receiving. The one who works as a therapist full time with children with disabilities and part time with adults recovering from major neurologic injuries. I am vegan. I volunteer on my birthday. Here's my WAY outdated #womp for probably 10 people that I can't remember because it was that kind of week last week. On my 🌱vegan🌱plate last week was:
Breakfast: tofu scramble with spinach in whole wheat pita
Lunch: build a bowl with cauliflower rice, roasted cauliflower, kale, roasted chickpeas, green lentils, roasted red pepper, and roasted cherry tomato topped with ALL the arugula
Dinner 1: Lentil pasta with trader joes vegan kale pesto, kite hill vegan ricotta, sun dried tomatoes, broccoli, and more arugula
Dinner 2: baked sweet potato, roasted corn, homemade bbq beans and roasted brussel sprouts

Monday morning #SDAC for @fitgirl_justine_pdx coffee edition! I forgot to eat breakfast! That's right. I legit forgot breakfast because, well, it's Monday and my brain is acting accordingly. So I stopped by Freddie's and got me a vegan protein bar. This is one of my favs. 🍫🥨☕️ proud of me for 1) not skipping breakfast altogether and 2) not eating something unhealthy and without essential nutrients because it's easier. 🌺

LONG POST!
Feed me tacos and tell me I'm pretty. 🌮🐳 Here are my pics for the FGG #beyourownfriend challenge. I have to be honest and say that I'm not sure I can call them "progress" pics because I look at these and think I almost look bigger (!) today than 28 days ago. I haven't used weight or measurements but I don't feel much different either. I'm pretty disappointed and I had to get someone else to help me see any sort of reality beyond failure. I did as much as I could. I ate 90% fitgirl meals and maybe 10% that weren't "approved". I only did about 40% of the workouts because I got sick. I increased my water intake by easily 3 times what I had been drinking and I'm still not quite at the recommended amount. I still feel like dying when I run. I've worked hard so to not see or feel changes is also hard. But I won't quit. I need to make some adjustments and move forward. I highly suspect that intense and sustained stress is a major player in my "lack of progress". Some workout pressure is going to be replaced by scheduled and daily self-care with lots of baths, reading, puzzling, meditation and yoga. It's progress to even post this and show my story. Just because you work hard and want something doesn't make it happen. So for any girls out there who are disappointed or comparing themselves to the girls who made serious noticeable progress, you're not alone. Keep going. Our time will come. 🌺

This place is my favorite place to start my Friday’s 🕺🏼

Man today was rough. I started out strong and was riding such a high from getting my meal prepping done last night and a good workout in after work. Then I got my first fitgirl mail from my big sis @fitgirl_hol . Can we pause for a minute and appreciate how awesome her hand lettering is?!?! Today was one of those days where I kept getting knocked down and back up, knocked down and back up.....until finally I felt like I couldn't get back up. I was snippy with my bf for no good reason and almost quit 3/4 of the way through my workout. I even had an ugly cry moment before my second round of burpees. I ended up taking about 60 seconds to pause and say FML out loud and feel defeated. I had a little self hate glare at myself in the mirror and then I got back down on my mat, did my burpees and moved on to round 3. I'm not sure I'm even proud of myself for finishing, I just did. And that's different than a lot of days. Meh. I hope I can continue to push through the weird tough days and not let them keep me down for too long. .

I legit considered going to work with dirty hair today because I wasn't sure I'd be able to lift my arms over my head during my shower! 😂 Did armcore X3 last night followed by a short yoga routine. Going all in with armcore 2 days, bootycore 2 days, cardio crush in between and a nice long stroll on Sunday to finish week 4 strong! 💪

Doing what makes my heart happy! Went camping with my bf and our hive-free flea-free doggo this weekend. Hiked all three days and got to hang out by some amazing rivers. 😍 Feeling SOUL refreshed and ready to finish this challenge. .
