Part of what I'm aiming at is four-dimensional writing. Moving the writing tool through the three dimensions of space, capturing the time spent during each part of a stroke. Marking the surface of vessels in this way is the closest I can manage until 'augmented reality' headsets are up to scratch. On the other hand, and fascinatingly, the porcelain vessel itself is formed in exactly that way: the clay flows upwards through my wet hands, recording the movement of my body in real time. I don't think it's a coincidence and it feels like I'm on exactly the right path.
