James Gunn talks cut Nathan Fillion cameo in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2!!!! Fans will recall last year when Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 was in production that set photos revealed a cameo by Nathan Fillion for the film, featuring the friend of the director as actor-turned-superhero Simon Williams on a series of movie posters. After piling out of the theater to see the finished product though, Fillion was nowhere to be seen in the movie. Now, Gunn has taken to Facebook to elaborate on his absence and to begin showing off those fabled Simon Williams movie posters.
“(Nathan’s) been in every movie I’ve directed – even as a monstrous, perverted voice in Guardians of the Galaxy. I didn’t have a good cameo for him in Vol. 2 – and I wanted to bring him more fully into the MCU at some point, so I didn’t want to make him Aakon Guard #2, narrowing his chance of a more substantial role in the future. I really do love the character of Simon Williams/Wonder Man in the comics – a sometimes douchey actor/superhero – and could see Nathan clearly in that role (not because he’s a douchebag but because he’s great at playing one).
“But, of course, in a movie set 99.9% in space I didn’t really have a place for him. So in a small flash to earth I decided to put a theater playing a “Simon Williams Film Festival,” with six Simon Williams movie posters outside. Obviously, from the posters, he’s had a run of B movies. Most of them in themselves are Easter eggs of some sort or another. Unfortunately, the small section of the scene where they appeared slowed down the movie and I had to cut the Easter eggs from the film (along with storefronts named after comic book luminaries Starlin, Mantlos, Annett and others).
“So that’s the full story. Nathan’s only cameo in the movie ever were these posters. I’ll post them all over the next few days. And, yes, I think we can consider them canon for the MCU, and I hold onto hope that Simon Williams will rise again!!” #GuardiansOfTheGalaxyVol2 #JamesGunn #KurtRussell #ChrisPrat #ZoeSaldana #Batista #VinDiesel #BradleyCooper #PomKlemtieff #MichaelRooker #SlyvesterStallone #NathanFillian #MarvelCinematicUniverse #MarvelComics #Disney

Baby Groot: I am Groot.
Yondu: What's that?
Rocket: He says, "Welcome to the frickin' Guardians of the Galaxy!" Only he didn't use "frickin'".
MOVIE REVIEW!!! Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017). Peter Quill and his fellow Guardians are hired by a powerful alien race, the Sovereign, to protect their precious batteries from invaders. When it is discovered that Rocket has stolen the items they were sent to guard, the Sovereign dispatch their armada to search for vengeance. As the Guardians try to escape, the mystery of Peter's parentage is revealed. This sequel is written and directed by James Gunn who helmed the first film also. It's a beautiful space epic that hits plenty of emotional beats but the humor falls flat at times. What made the first one so good was the team dynamic and chemistry which is completely lost at the start of this film. At some point there are four different stories with four different duos going on at the same time which makes the movie feel episodic. It has some of the most beautiful looking CGI I've seen recently and the 3D effects really stood out especially in the third act. It did what most of these marvel sequels can't and gave us an great villain that wasn't just a bunch of mindless drones and was a single entity. Kurt Russel also kills it and reminds us why he is still as charming as he was in the 80's. But the real stand out was Michael Rooker as Yondu who returns from the first film with a bigger role filled with humor and heart. At the end of the day it is better than most marvel movies but is a little too familiar to be in the top tier of films. I give it 🎥🎥🎥 and 1/2 out of 5. It is currently available in theaters. #GuardiansOfTheGalaxyVol2 #JamesGunn #KurtRussell #ChrisPrat #ZoeSaldana #Batista #VinDiesel #BradleyCooper #PomKlemtieff #MichaelRooker #SlyvesterStallone #MarvelCinematicUniverse #MarvelComics #Disney #RellesReviews

Miley Cyrus makes a cameo in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2!!!
Miley Cyrus makes a cameo in the upcoming Marvel film Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, according to reporter Sarah Ruhlman. The news was confirmed to People, by Disney. According to Ruhlman’s tweet, director James Gunn and Marvel President Kevin Feige revealed that Cyrus is the voice of Mainframe. Ruhlman said, “I was watching The Voice, and I [thought] she’s so likable, and her voice is awesome, she’s got the best voice. And then I asked Kevin [Feige], ‘What do you think about casting Miley Cyrus as the voice of Mainframe?’ He was like, ‘Well, if you think we can get her.’ … and I got her to do it.” If you’re not familiar with Mainframe, it’s an alternate version of the Vision (played by Paul Bettany in the Marvel Cinematic Universe) that has evolved to become the operating system of a planet. Before Miley Cyrus, Mainframe was voiced by Jeffrey Combs in Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H. Earlier, during the press conference for the film, Feige asked Gunn, “Have you told anyone who Mainframe is?” Gunn responded, “I haven’t told anyone, yeah. Should we?” Then he said, “Oh, I think I actually did. I blew it. I told one person.” “It’ll get out,” Feige replied. #GuardiansOfTheGalaxyVol2 #JamesGunn #KurtRussell #ChrisPrat #ZoeSaldana #Batista #VinDiesel #BradleyCooper #PomKlemtieff #MichaelRooker #SlyvesterStallone #NathanFillian #MileyCyrus #KevinFeige #MarvelCinematicUniverse #MarvelComics #Disney
