Anyone know what this is?
I was introduced to HiPUR by @caymancarpenter who spoke very highly of it.
Its a PolyUrethane Reactive hot melt adhesive. Sort of like a cross between standard hot glue and CA glue. Its much thinner than standard hot glue so it doesnt tend to push pieces apart.
You can pick from 4 adhesives with different set times. They offer 30 second, 60 second, 75 second, and 5 minute.
The glue gun itself is basically cordless. You plug in a docking base, and A 200 watt heating element within the gun will warm a sleeve of metal around the tube, storing that energy.
You can pull the glue gun off its base and work cord free for up to 20 minutes, depending on ambient temperature. It just requires a 12 minute pre-heat to get flowing. You top up heat between uses.
Once complete for the day, squeeze a bit of glue out and screw the cap on. Tubes stay useful for up to 4 weeks. The glue comes in aluminum sleeves similar to a caulking tube but smaller.
This product used to be offered by @titebondproducts, but its now offered by a company called Infinity.
Ill show you some joints under stress. Its incredibly strong!
